ANALYSIS:
Similar to our monitoring of Hell Fest (2018), our subject empathized with characters attending a haunted house in the opening scene, jumping at every creepy effect thrown her way. Then, for forty minutes, the film established a mystery surrounding a hotel with several interviews about the night in question. This lengthy backstory, however, planted the seed of terror ultimately responsible for the extreme heart racing to follow. Shadows, strange noises and lighting effects combined to work on our subject’s nerves as her mind slipped into the dark story unfolding. Multiple spikes above 85bpm kept her heart rate elevated for more than forty five minutes as surprises revealed themselves around every corner. Her peak of 92bpm arrived during an investigation of the house where the unknown became her worst nightmare.
CONCLUSION:
Hell House LLC. (2015) is a haunting roller coaster of emotions. Freakishly scary props and lighting effects created visually stunning moments not normally found in a dark found footage horror film. The true haunted house vibe with terrifying images may be burned into our subjects psyche for years to come.
