ANALYSIS:

Right away, the opening of the film kicked off a heart racing moment of tension. Our subject was drawn in to the excitement but the scene happened quickly. It was not long enough to create an extremely high spike. Twenty minutes later, our subject experienced her first large spell of anxiety. The techno laced haunted noises began to escalate her heart rate which culminated at an 85bpm jumpscare. Our subject then relaxed into an entertaining storyline with more chuckles than frights. The last hour, however, kept her blood pumping and heart racing often above 80bpm. Intriguing plot twists spun a horror film into a breathtaking thriller. We recorded her peak heart rate of 87bpm as the story progressed to its climax.

Watch our subject’s heart rate climb from 72bpm to her peak 87bpm here.
