Stung (2015) Live Heart Rate Breakdown

Inspired by Murder Hornets, the latest threat of 2020, we chose to monitor Stung (2015), a German-American Independent romantic horror comedy directed by Benni Diaz. Find out if our subject’s heart rate buzzed to terrifyingly new heights by watching these gigantic mutations.

What is FearScale? We’ve all heard the expression ‘Scared to Death’ or how something ‘Made My Heart Skip a Beat’, but what does that actually look like? Studies have shown that even when subjected to stimuli that can not present a true threat of danger, our bodies will still produce a physiological response. By analyzing real-time results we are able to give you the most accurate reviews for anything that makes your heart race.

Where To Watch:

Walking HR: 80-85bpm

ANALYSIS:

Stung (2015) did little to affect our subject’s vitals early on. She endured twenty minutes of a party setup before showing any signs of heart rate elevation. The film established a cast of characters and slightly hinted at the possible threat that lay ahead. Once we hit the twenty five minute mark however, a surge of gory scenes lifted her pulse over 75bpm. Empathy for the main characters played a huge role in our subject’s elevated numbers as we progressed through the middle build. In fact, the less the creatures were seen, the faster her pulse would race. A jump scare which led to a brutal kill delivered our subject’s peak heart rate of 82bpm. And it was an exciting finale filled with gross-out moments that sustained her levels above resting boosting her overall average into the seventies.

CONCLUSION:

Stung (2015) has likeable characters and a swarm of well designed practical effects. The film doesn’t immediately fly into chaos but attempts to build suspense prior to the creature reveals. Several of the slimier scenes didn’t seem to bug our subject but the finale delivered a flaming barrage of amusing action. The disgusting attacks were entertaining but a humorous over the top insect story lessened the scares. This ultimately took the sting out of watching Stung.
