ANALYSIS:
The filmmakers were not afraid to reveal the aliens from the start which would normally cause heart rate numbers to drop. However, the intense situation kept our subject engaged and on the edge of her seat. Signs of life arrived at 10:00 when the first creepy visitor pushed our subject’s heart rate out of resting to 78bpm. Several more cat and mouse errr… human vs alien confrontations kept her numbers above 80bpm or higher for most of the middle build. Another close encounter at 48:00 gnawed at our subject’s nerves and produced her peak 91bpm. Once the film decided to focus more on the backstory, her numbers began to decline as she attempted to figure out the strange finale.
CONCLUSION:
No One Will Save You (2023) is a cool and captivating alien thriller that maintains moderately high levels of stress through a confusing mystery. Our subject was left wondering why she should be happy for the main protagonist after the horrors we’d just witnessed. Still, the film contained enough heart-racing moments to make this movie a calorie burning treat.
